Welcome to The Catchpenny – the finest public house in Fitzwilliam, Pontefract. We're a friendly family run business housed in a listed building with lovely gardens, outdoor heated patio and lawns with a large car park facility for up to 80 cars. Our opening hours are Monday – Sunday 12pm to 11pm. Traditional bar food is served daily from 12pm to 3pm, or enjoy our weekly Sunday Carvery from 12pm til 3pm. The Catchpenny is easily accessible from Wakefield, Pontefract and Barnsley.

We also have a separate function room, newly refurbished for up to 100 people with its own private bar, in house music system, dance floor and own toilet facilities. Conference facilities are also available such as projectors, flip charts and televisions. For your Christmas parties we can organise DJs, bands and other live entertainment to suit you. The Catchpenny hosts a Quiz Night every Wednesday and Sunday. Join in the fun and enjoy a free buffet on the night.

For all you sports fans out there, we show Sky Sports and all the big matches on our large projector and screens. We also have our very own pool table, and you can even enjoy a game of darts or dominoes if you please. We offer free pool all day on Mondays. Our friendly bar staff are always on hand to help you out.
